About Windy Osborn
Windy Osborn was first published in the early 70s at age 14, shooting bicycle motocross. She worked for Wizard Publications, Inc. for 17 years shooting for BMX Action Magazine, Freestylin' Magazine and Homeboy Magazine, and developed a craft and style that made her mark as a cutting edge photographer, being the only professional female photographer in the industry of bicycle motocross, freestyle and skateboarding.
Windy has been honored for her historic contributions to the sport of bicycle motocross with an induction into the National BMX Hall of Fame at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, in 2012. The same year she was also named one of The 10 Most Influential BMX Photographers of All Time by Dig BMX Magazine.
In 2007, with children then in their teens, Windy re-entered the world of photography, transitioning from film to digital and with a new-found love for botanicals, which she captures with the same passionate vision as extreme sports. Communicating an appreciation for the finer details in flowers, palms and succulents, she has sold her works as large-format canvas prints, through local galleries and gift shops in Carmel, California.
Moving to North County San Diego in 2013 has led Windy to explore some of Southern California's most gorgeous coastline, where she continues to capture the true art and soul of whatever she sees.
