Red Rose was photographed in the garden, still on it's stem, perched tall and unstable. When the breeze would die down, I would shoot away. Funny how the unexpected can take a great image to being "the one". As the breeze gently swayed the rose, it also moved the trees leaves above us, which in this given moment, shed a strand of light to kiss the face of my beautiful Red Rose.
Windy Osborn was first published in the early 70s at age 14, shooting bicycle motocross. She worked for Wizard Publications, Inc. for 17 years shooting for BMX Action Magazine, Freestylin' Magazine and Homeboy Magazine, and developed a craft and style that made her mark as a cutting edge photographer, being the only professional female photographer in the industry of bicycle motocross, freestyle and skateboarding. Windy has been honored for her historic contributions to the sport of bicycle motocross with an induction into the National BMX Hall of Fame at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, in 2012.
